Felipe de Melo Fonte (LL.B., M.S.L, S.J.D., University of the State of Rio de Janeiro; LL.M., Harvard Law School) is a legal practitioner since 2006, and a member of the Constitutional Law Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro Chapter (Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil – Seccional do Rio de Janeiro). Felipe is also Professor of Constitutional Law at Fundação Getúlio Vargas Law School (Rio de Janeiro) and ambassador in Brazil of the David Rockfeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS). He served as clerk at the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court.
His main areas of practice are Constitutional, Tax, Administrative, Regulatory, and Banking Law, in which he works both as a consultant and conducting litigation, with an emphasis on the Superior Courts, especially the Supreme Federal Court and the Superior Court of Justice, as well as on the Federal Court of Audit (Tribunal de Contas da União). He is the leader of our Tax Law team, and an important part of our Digital Law team, with extensive work on matters regarding regulation of new technologies and applications.
